Acid–Base Titrations
Acid–base titrations are based on neutralization reactions between acids and bases, resulting in the formation of salt and water.
Theories of Acid–Base Indicators
- Ostwald’s Theory: Indicators are weak acids or bases that change color due to ionization
- Quinonoid Theory: Color change occurs due to structural change in indicator molecule
Classification of Acid–Base Titrations
- Strong acid vs Strong base
- Strong acid vs Weak base
- Weak acid vs Strong base
- Weak acid vs Weak base
- Very weak acid or base titrations
